Dr. Nisar Ahmad Lone, Head of the Department of Mathematics, was invited as a Resource Person by Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar from 6th April to 07th April 2026, to deliver an extension lecture on Mathematical Education.

JKIMS proudly organized a Felicitation Ceremony on 27th of Feb 2026, to honour its meritorious students who brought laurels to the institute by securing Gold Medals at the 21st Convocation of the University of Kashmir.

To expose students to innovative academic and research ideas, an academic tour of 2 weeks was planned to the Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI). During this 15-day academic visit to one of Indias top Mathematical Scientific institutes, a group of 16 students were accompanied by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Sr. Assistant Professor of Mathematics, and other staff members.

The Institute organized a one day Counselling Cum training Programme on 10th of January 2026 for pass out students of JKIMS (batches 2017,2018 & 2019) as part of on-campus recruitment drive in collaboration with the Gandhi Fellowship Programme by Piramal Foundation aimed at nurturing leadership skills and holistic development among participants.

JKIMS celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm and respect to mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The programme was organized to highlight his life, philosophy, and contribution towards peace, truth, and non-violence.

JKIMS organized a 15-day educational tour to the prestigious Chennai Mathematical Institute in the month of Jan-Feb. A group of 20 students along with the faculty went on an enriching journey, where they had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of scientific Research and witness the cutting-edge research conducted at one of Indias premier scientific Institutions.

JKIMS organized First J&K Teachers Science Congress on the theme "Pedagogy and review of current Science Education" from 12-14 November, 2017 in collaboration with Directorate of School Education Jammu and Kashmir. The event was also supported and catalyzed by the Department of science & technology J&K.

A National level workshop of its first kind organized by the Jammu& Kashmir Institute of Mathematical sciences at its campus in Amar Singh College Srinagar started on 24th Feb. 2014. The weeklong workshop was inaugurated by the Director of the Institute Prof. Wali Mohammad Shah and it continue up to 2nd March 2014.

Jammu & Kashmir Institute of Mathematical Sciences (JKIMS) organized one-day seminar to celebrate National Science Day 2020, catalyzed and supported by National Council for Science, Technology & Communication, Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India, with focal theme ‘Women in Science’ on 11TH March 2020 at its Amar Singh College (Srinagar) Campus.
