To expose students to innovative academic and research ideas, an academic tour of 2 weeks was planned to the Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI). During this 15-day academic visit to one of Indias top Mathematical Scientific institutes, a group of 16 students were accompanied by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Sr. Assistant Professor of Mathematics, and other staff members.
Students attended interactive academic sessions, lectures, and seminars led by distinguished teachers and researchers while they were at CMI. The visit strengthened the students' academic and research orientation by providing insightful information about revolutionary mathematical ideas, current research topics, and interdisciplinary applications.
As part of the academic itinerary, the group also visited the Institution of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc), IIT Madras and other relevant academic and research institutions in the surrounding regions. These visits enabled students to interact with academicians, understand diverse academic structures, and gain broader exposure to higher education and research practices across institutions.
Overall, the academic tour was a highly enriching experience that enhanced students’ academic perspective, encouraged collaborative learning, and motivated them towards higher studies and research in mathematical sciences
