J&K Institute of Mathematical Sciences (JKIMS) was established in the year 2013 by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir as an autonomous institute of excellence for conducting quality research in mathematical sciences, in collaboration with global centers of excellence to cater to the ever amplifying demand of human resource development. My predecessors Prof. Wali Mohammad Shah and Prof. Assia Siddiqi did a commendable job in raising the primary infrastructure of the institution and initiating academic activities at JKIMS. I am humbled and honored to serve this institution for the benefit of student community and to keep the legacy going. Keeping in view the spirit and philosophy behind JKIMS, I look forward to put our integrated efforts together and receive the cooperation from all stakeholders including students, academicians and members of civil society to achieve academic excellence.
