The lecture focused on developing a deeper appreciation and understanding of mathematics, highlighting the joy of learning and emphasizing the importance of approaching the subject with curiosity, insight, and conceptual clarity. Prof. Sofi encouraged the audience to look beyond procedural learning and engage with mathematics as a subject of exploration, reasoning, and intellectual discovery.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Director, JKIMS, Prof. (Dr. Tehmina Yusuf). The event was attended by Heads of Mathematics Departments from various colleges across the Valley, along with a large number of students and faculty members.

The interaction between the distinguished speaker, faculty members, and students created an enriching academic environment and provided an opportunity for meaningful discussion on various aspects of the teaching and learning of mathematics.
