JKIMS celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm and respect to mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The programme was organized to highlight his life, philosophy, and contribution towards peace, truth, and non-violence.
The celebration commenced with the welcome address, followed by a series of events designed to engage the students and reflect Gandhiji’s ideals. A Debate was held where students eloquently spoke on the teachings and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. To bring out the creative side of students, a painting competition was organized on the theme of “Life and Message of Gandhiji”. A quiz competition was also conducted, which tested the knowledge of participants about the freedom struggle and Gandhiji’s role in it.
The highlight of the event was the presence of Principal Amar Singh College, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty in organizing the event and encouraged everyone to imbibe the values of truth, simplicity, and non-violence in their daily lives.
The programme concluded with the distribution of awards to the winners of the competitions by the Chief Guest, followed by a vote of thanks. The celebration not only paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi but also served as a reminder for all to walk on the path shown by him.
